Oil leak

Hi everyone!
Diesel newb, but longtime gearhead.

I have an 04 F-250 Turbodiesel I just purchased. Notice oil leaking around the bellhousing, oil drain bolt and most disturbingly around the studs holding the driver side exhaust manifold on the block. Any ideas? Is this symptoms of a head gasket? I haven't noticed any low oil or any low performance however.

Also, does anyone know if there is a shop manual available yet?

Oil leak
I have an 03 F350 with a similar oil leak. I have told 3 differant dealers about this. They have told me that the tech just spilled oil when changing the filter, the oil plug was stripped ind needed to be replaced, and it is normal to have this happen. I noticed this leak around 90k to 95k miles. I now have 113k miles and it still leaks. Now the dealers are saying that I had never mentioned this to them. I have my oil changed anywhere from 3k to 5k miles.
I have always went to the dealer to have all my service done. I cannot see exactly where the leak is from, but the underside of my truck is covered in oil. It drips from all my skid plates, transmission, and frame. I check the oil at every fill up and have not noticed a significant change in the oil level.
Any help on this would be appreciated.

Try finding your tech manual online. Helminc.com is a good start. You can either get the book or the CD. It is now law that automotive service manuals must be made available to anyone requesting one. Your dealieship can also provide them. Make sure you get the right one.

Is the truck still under the 100,000 5 year drivetrain warranty. If so let the dealership worry about it. At least that is my thoughts. You paid for the warranty let them worry about it. You also will get a nice loaner car to beat the crap out of until they fix your oil leak.

On my truck 7.3L I had the same type of oil leak though. It ended up being a brass plug on the valve cover that has an o-ring to seal it. That o-ring was ripped and that is how it leaked oil. I got a new o-ring for 2 bucks at the dealer ship. Put it in myself fixed the oil leak. I would be checking around the topside of the engine driverside. Wash the engine and then look for the leak.

I have an 04 with the same leak i just took it in to have fixed about 3 weeks ago and the replaced the valve cover so they say , i JUST took it back again for the same thing and now they say my turbo tubes are leaking now , and thiswould be the last time they would fix it because i just put 5in exhuat on it and it is spolling 2lbs more bost than stock. and that it was spolling to fast i think they just dont want to mess with it lazy techs !
